I love hanging out at Starbucks. Their coffee and frappuccinos are remarkably good. The ambiance is quite soothing if I simply want to chill. At the same time, there’s just enough “life” that can provide me with energy if I need to get some writing done. Plus, there are internet connection and easy-to-access electronic sockets.
Last night, however, the usually great experience I have at Starbucks turned unpleasant. I had to wait for my boyfriend to finish his shift, so I decided to hang out there for a couple of hours. It was the best place to kill time; the chairs are comfy, and they’ve got wi-fi.
When I got there, I was quite happy knowing that I’ll have a hot cup of chocolate while browsing Facebook and reading an ebook. But my excitement was cut short after learning their charge for wi-fi.

Get Your Voice Heard with Bubbly
In a few years, do you think bubbling would be such a hit like tweeting?
Oh, what is “bubbling” you ask? Bubbling comes from the word Bubbly. It is a social networking site that allows you to record your voice as your status instead of text. Twitter has a 140-character limit, while Bubbly has one-minute limit for each recording.
I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I am loving it!
1. It’s a good way to practice speaking.
I grew up in a family surrounded by music and DJ’s. Two of my uncles were DJ’s. In fact, one of them is still a DJ!
My grandfather , while technically not a DJ , sometimes does voice overs of his favorite radio shows when he was a teenager. So it’s natural for me to communicate my thoughts through voice.

Despite the occasional rain showers, it is undeniable that it is indeed summer time! With the unbelievably hot temperature, we all crave for a summer getaway. Whether it’s an all-week trip to Boracay or a quick trip to Splash Island, we all need to protect our skin from the unforgiving sun. There are plenty of things you can do to enjoy outdoor activities this summer while avoiding the painful and unsightly sunburn.
Invest on a good sun block.
As much as possible, get a sun block that is at least 30 SPF. The higher the SPF means you can stay under the sun much longer. Keep in mind though that a sun block with a higher SPF costs more. For example, Nivea’s Immediate Sun Whitening 30 SPF costs Php300, while the one with 50 SPF costs Php500. It’s quite expensive, but consider it as an investment for avoiding sunburn and maintaining your complexion.
Actually, you may end up spending more when you get sunburned. You have to see a skin specialist and buy different types of creams! And let’s face it, having sunburn is painful and uncomfortable. So when you’re out in the sun, prevention is definitely better than cure.

I’m really grateful that I got the chance to attend the Red Carpet Premier of The Lorax in IMAX, SM Southmall. From the food to the film, and every details in between, the experience is almost magical.
Top 5 - Seeing Marvin Agustin for three seconds.
Seeing a local celebrity, whether you’re a fan or not, is definitely considered a highlight of any event. While we were taking photos after the premier, a group of 10 security guards were rushing to our direction. Well, as it turned out, they were guarding Marvin Agustin. They were walking really fast and not stopping for anything or anyone.

Spoiler Alert: PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THE EPISODE YET. But if you love spoilers, then read on.:)

My eyes are sore. My chest feels a little tight. No, I didn’t undergo a break up or watch Gran Torino. I have to blame the writers of The Walking Dead for these tears. Yes, I cried while watching Episode 11, and I cried even more even after the credits rolled.
So why did I cry?
Before I answer this question, let me tell you the battle that the characters of the series have to fight in this episode. Should they hold on to humanity or should they survive at any cost? Holding on to their humanity means keeping the boy or the “prisoner” alive, surviving would mean his execution. Read the rest of this entry »
